"A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things"
Ecclesiastes 10:19
Nashville Homeless Underground
A recognized local grassroots organization. Co-founded by advocates like Howard Allen Jr., the group emerged as a voice for the unhoused population, organizing to advocate for human rights, protest camp evictions, and push city officials for more permanent, dignified housing and immediate relief. Thank you!
True Christian love is defined by tangible actions, not just words, when encountering someone who is destitute.
"For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me."
Matthew 25:35–36
Jesus reminds his followers that
He himself experienced homelessness
and lacked a permanent earthly home. [1]
“Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;”
Matthew 13:14
"And Jesus said to him, 'Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head. "
Matthew 8:20
"For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them."
Matthew 13:15
"But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?"
1 John 3:17
Finding Creative Compromises
The current grassroots advocacy is largely driven by faith and motivated by our Christian beliefs. We focus on education seminars, panel discussions, homeless immersion tours, finding survival resources, and reminding a nation that the homeless are Gods children too. [1, 2, 3, 4]
